Author Guidelines

Issues In Social and Environmental Accounting (ISEA) is an international and refereed journal published quarterly (starting 2013) by Indonesian Center for Social and Environmental Accounting Research and Development (ICSEARD), Sebelas Maret University. ISEA is networking and dissemination means of practices and theory of social and environmental accounting by people concerned with that field. In the journal, prospective authors can raise issues of the social and environmental accounting from many perspectives of accounting field and of other fields that impact directly and directly on accounting field. The journal publishes empirical, theoretical, and review papers as well as book review. The parties involved in this journal are scholars from so many countries, including: Indonesia, USA, Canada, UK, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Belgium, Ireland, Korea, Jordan, Mexico, H ong Kong, China, Austria, Malaysia, Japan, and India. As an international journal, the official language of ISEA is English. Therefore, all papers submitted to the journal should be writen in good English. Authors for whom English is not their native language are required to have their paper checked before submission for grammar and clarity. ISEA is a peer-reviewed or refereed journal. All articles submitted by potential contributors from all over the world to the editor-in-Chief Indonesian Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research and Development (ICSEARD) are administered by editors. They are then evaluated using the blind review method. From the result of peer-reviewing process the articles could be categorized as accepted for publication, accepted with minor revision, accepted with major revision, or rejected for publication

  1. General Author Guidelines All paper submission to the ISEA is made using an online system that can be accessed at http://isea.icseard.uns.ac.id/index.php/isea/about/submissions#onlineSubmissions to successfully submit the papers authors are required to register as Author in the online system. If authors have any problems on the online submission, please contact Editorial Office at the following email: hfauzi@icseard.uns.ac.id
  2. Manuscript Template The papers to be submitted to ISEA should be prepared on based on the ISEA template. The template can be downloaded at: http://isea.icseard.uns.ac.id/public/journals/template/ISEA_Template_.docx
  3. Review Process of manuscripts All papers submitted to ISEA will be preliminarily reviewed by the editors to check their suitability to vision of the journal and their eligibility for detailed review by peers or reviewers team. If the papers are considered eligible for the next steps, then at least two peers’ referees (reviewers) will be assigned to blindly review the papers. The decision on the status of the papers: Acceptable for publication, Acceptable with minor revision, Acceptable with Major Revision (review required after revision), or Rejected is based on the reviewers' recommendation.
  4. Revision of manuscripts The feedbacks of the reviewers will sent to the author. And the authors should consider their comments to get their papers published in ISEA. Along with the separate page explaining in pages the authors have amended the reviewers comments, the revised manuscript version should be sent back to ISEA thorough Online submission: http://isea.icseard.uns.ac.id/index.php/isea/about/submissions#onlineSubmissions before the last date that mentioned in the system. The revised manuscripts returned after the last date will be rejected by the system and should be submitted as new submission.

  6. Guideline for Online Submission Author should first register as Author and/or is offered as Reviewer through the following address: http://isea.icseard.uns.ac.id/index.php/isea/about/submissions#onlineSubmissions Author should fulfil the form as detail as possible where the star marked form must be entered. After all form textbox was filled, Author clicks on “Register” button to proceed the registration. Therefore, Author is brought to online author submission interface where Author should click on “New Submission”. In the Start a New Submission section, click on “’Click Here’: to go to step one of the five-step submission process”. The following are five steps in online submission process:
    1. Step 1 - Starting the Submission: Select the appropriate section of journal, i.e. Original Research Articles, Review Article, or Short Communication. Thus, author must check-mark on the submission checklists. Author may type or copy-paste Covering Letter in Letter to Editor.
    2. Step 2 – Uploading the Submission: To upload a manuscript to this journal, click Browse on the Upload submission file item and choose the manuscript document file (.doc/.docx) to be submitted, then click "Upload" button until the file has been uploaded.
    3. Step 3 – Entering Submission’s Metadata: In this step, detail authors metadata should be entered including marked corresponding author. After that, manuscript title and abstract must be uploaded by copying the text and paste in the textbox including keywords.
    4. Step 4 – Uploading Supplementary Files: Supplementary file should be uploaded including Covering/Submission Letter. Therefore, click on Browse button, choose the files, and then click on Upload button.
    5. Step 5 – Confirming the Submission: Author should final check the uploaded manuscript documents in this step. To submit the manuscript to ISEA journal, click Finish Submission button after the documents is true. The corresponding author or the principal contact will receive an acknowledgement by email and will be able to view the submission’s progress through the editorial process by logging in to the journal web address site. After this submission, Authors who submit the manuscript will get a confirmation email about the submission. Therefore, Authors are able to track their submission status at any time by logging in to the online submission interface. The submission tracking includes status of manuscript review and editorial process.
  7. Publication Fee (Page Charge) ISEA is an open access international journal. However, after the manuscripts have been accepted for publication, the authors should pay a publication fee of US$100 (hundred dollar per accepted paper) for processing the articles and DOI maintenance as well as the hardcopy + the shipping cost for US$10 (domestic) and for US$30 (overseas) to mail the hardcopy to the authors address. The journal has no article submission charges.
  8. User Rights All articles published Open Access will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read and download. We are continuously working with our author communities to select the best choice of license options, currently being defined for this journal as follows:

  9. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
    1. General Organization of Paper The paper will be published in ISEA journal after peer-reviewed process and decided “Accepted” by Editor. The final paper layout will be reproduced by Editorial Office of ISEA journal. The final paper layout in PDF type, known as “Uncorrected Proof” should be corrected by Author. The paper submitted should be organized in the following order: Title; Authors Name; Authors Affiliation; Abstract; Keywords; Introduction; Literature Review; Methods; Results and Discussion; Conclusions; and References.
    2. Section Headings Three levels of heading are allowed as follows:
      • Major headings (for section title) - 12pt, Times bold, centre justified
      • Sub-Heading 1 (for sub section title) - 12pt, Times bold, left justified
      • Sub-headings 2 (for sub....sub section title) - 11pt, Times bold, left justified
      • Sub-headings 3,4 (for sub....sub section title) - 11pt, Times bold italic, left justified
    3. Body Text The section title use 12 pt, bold, Times, title case with 6 pt spacing to the body text. Use 11 pt Times for body of the text with one spacing between lines, 12 pt spacing between paragraph and 18 pt spacing for the next heading.
    4. Figure and Tables Tables are sequentially numbered with the table title and number above the table. Tables should be centered in the column. Figures are sequentially numbered commencing at 1 with the figure title and number below the figure. Figure and Table headings should be in 11pt bold. All figures and tables should be centered and numbered consecutively.
    5. Paper Title The title of the paper should be in 18 pt bold Times New Roman and be centered. The title should have 0 pts space above and 20 pts below.
    6. Authors Name and Affiliations Write Author(s) names without title and professional positions such as Prof, Dr, Production Manager, etc. Do not abbreviate your last/family name. Always give your First and Last names. Write clear affiliation of all Authors. Affiliation includes: name of department/unit, (faculty), name of university, address, country. Author names should be in 11 pt Times Roman bold with 0 pts above and 6 pts below. Author addresses are superscripted by numerals and centered over both columns of manuscripts. Author affiliations should be in 10 pt Times bold.
    7. Abstract and Keywords Use 10 pt Times font for body of the text with one spacing between lines, and 12 pt spacing for the next heading. Use 6 pt between title and body.Left and right indent 0.5cm. Maximum length 200 words. Keywords: use 10 pt; lower case; italic; Times; write alphabetically in 5-10 words.
    8. Acknowledgments You may wish to thank those who have supported you and your work. 9.9. References Within the text, references should be cited by giving last name of the author(s) and the order num-ber in the reference as: Books Gray, R., Owen, D. & Adams, C.
